FTCA Requirements

The Federally Supported Health Center Assistance Acts of 1992 and 1995, 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n), authorized the Health Center FTCA Program, which is administered by HRSA’s Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). Mattapan Community Health Center (MCHC) has been deemed by HRSA as a Public Health Service employee for purposes of liability protections under FSHCAA. MCHC receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
